Minnesota Midwives

I hold the CPM - Certified Professional Midwife credential, and a Midwifery License (LM) with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and am a former Texas Documented Midwife (DM). I am also a provider of Creighton Model Fertility Care.

As a professional midwife, I offer complete home birth midwifery care to clients within a two-hour radius of my home office. Complete prenatal/postpartum care is available in the northwest Mpls. Metro area or Princeton, with a number of visits in the client's home. I highly encourage father/family participation in the birth process and offer waterbirth as an option. As a Licensed Midwife, I can arrange for pregnancy laboratory work, and if needed, can help with finding a medical provider.

My passion for helping women in birth began shortly after the birth of my first child in 1974. Her birth transformed my life. After the birth of my sixth and last child, I began apprenticing with my midwife. Through the years I worked as a doula and labor assistant, while continuing to apprentice with Traditional Midwives, Licensed Certified Professional Midwives (CPM’s), and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM’s). I completed my midwifery training through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program. I am currently studying with Dr. Thomas W. Hilgers as a Creighton Model Fertility Care Practitioner and Fertility Care Medical Consultant.

My awesome husband of 33 years, Doug, and I have birthed six children together, including one by C-section. My children are now all adults. However, I feather my empty nest with eleven amazing grandchildren and my wonderful clients and their babies.

I believe that childbirth is a normal physiological process and that God uniquely designed women for the childbearing experience. I seek to educate birthing families on how to achieve a healthy pregnancy and then honor the integrity of their decisions. My goal is to help couples safely birth a healthy baby while transforming their lives through the process and engraving a life-time of precious birth memories into their hearts.
